We have identified some limitations of current tray return robots and have come up with solutions to tackle each of these problems.
Vision
We aim to create a tray return robot that would be able to encourage a culture of returning one’s tray by increasing convenience and efficiency.

- Mobile base robot that can lift and deposit tray rack
- Line tracking for navigation and giving instructions to robot
- Distance sensors to detect obstacles and stop to prevent collision
- Linear actuators for loading and unloading
- Weight sensors to trigger return to docking station
