Through this project, we have picked up hard skills in areas such as python coding, Arduino coding, wiring and 3D modelling and printing. We had the chance to put into practice what we had learned previously, such as mathematical concepts, making us value the connection between theoretical and practical considerations.

We have furthered our communication skills as we discussed and generated ideas together to solve issues. We have come to recognise the importance of delegation of duties in a big project, and the integration of the different parts while keeping everyone on the same page.

We have grown an appreciation for the precision needed in each and every component of the mechanism and the immense challenges involved.

Similarly, we have realised the tolerances in designs and how to identify the root cause in order to solve our issues. While there were many challenges because of the forces and friction in a practical context, we adapted with slightly better designs at each new iteration. Overall, we all have cultivated a deeper understanding and respect for the engineering and design process.
