Who are we?

Nanyang Technological University Buddhist Society

(NTUBS) is a non-sectarian Buddhist society which provides various Dharma learning experience suitable for NTU community. It envisions propagating the Dharma and at the same time encouraging spiritual development. Walk the journey together with us to learn the noble knowledge, to practice the wholesome actions, to realize the potential and to share the benefits with all beings.

Objectives

To propagate Buddhism to promote its Teaching, to foster and develop the qualities of Truth, loving-kindness and compassion in accordance with Buddhist Teachings and practices based on the triple gems: the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha
To foster fellowship, friendship and understanding among members irrespective of race and religion
To promote active participation in welfare and charitable work

Creation of Nanyang Technological Institute Buddhist Society (later NTUBS)

1983

1st Quarterly newletter: “The Way”
1st NTIBS Dharma Interaction Camp

1984

1st Annual magazine “NTI Buddhist Society Magazine”

1985

1st Dharma Interaction Group established
1st recorded fund raising event for charitable causes
1st Orientation Camp, held at Kong Meng San Phor Kark See
Annual magazine renamed to “Prajna”
