Last year, our Social & Welfare (S&W) division organized an exciting night of fun and games for all our scholars. Held in the new Crescent Function Hall on the 5th of November, this was none other than the highly anticipated event – Halloween 2014! The theme of 2014 – Zombiegeddon, encouraged individuals to express themselves through creepy painted faces and outrageous outfits, and more importantly, provide a chance for social interactions and bonding over good food and fun games before the final examinations.

As the skies darkened, the participants gradually streamed into the event hall, clad in various interesting outfits, including a “blood-stained” shirt, jester hats, feline faces, exaggerated eye paints and even an aluminium foil hat! There was also a face painting booth with talented individuals helping people to get their special look for the night. Much to the delight of many, S&W had conveniently prepared many interesting props and a hand-made backdrop for people to have their pictures taken throughout the night.

Everyone was treated to a delicious dinner buffet in the function hall. Afterwards, Feng Yu, the emcee, explained the various games specially prepared and also hosted the very first game on stage. It involved individuals shaking away sticky Post-It notes from their body, which induced bursts of laughter across the audience as participants frantically shook their body from head to toe! Other interesting games included holding one end of the spoon with only the mouth and using it to lift cotton balls from one container to another, drinking tiny cups of mixed fruit juices and guessing their combinations, and remembering a sequence of Halloween-related objects with a group of friends.

To end off the night, many lucky participants walked away with interesting prizes in the lucky draw- the top prize being a whopping 40 pack of cookie sticks of various flavours! The Exam Welfare Package (EWP) was also distributed to all our scholars, thanks to the hard work of Business Management (Biz Mag) and the respective sponsors. All in all, it was a heart-warming sight to see seniors and juniors all gathered together to enjoy the event as a big family!
