The purpose of the Annual General Meeting is to serve as an investiture ceremony for the newly elected management committees, outgoing management committees, and special event committees, as well as to provide all members with insight into the Club’s events from AY21/22 and all upcoming events from AY22/23.
The evening began with a meal, networking, and fellowship session. After dinner, everyone went to LT7 to begin the official Annual General Meeting. First, Ms. Ng Woon Yee, the incoming president, addressed the agenda at the Annual General Meeting. The agenda is passed with a simple majority vote. Then, Associate Professor Kevin Peter Blackburn was asked to give a speech on “The Role We Can Play in Conserving Tangible and Intangible Heritage.” Following that, Ms. Lim Yan Chuo, our outgoing Honorary General Secretary, presented the 2021 AGM Meeting Minutes, and Mr. Lee Min Xuan, our incoming Financial Controller, presented the Financial Statement. Following the passage of the minutes and financial statement by a simple majority vote, the outgoing president, Mr. Ng Jun Wen, was invited to deliver his remarks. Afterward, the incoming Vice President, Mr. Kevin Yok presented the club’s past accomplishments and an overview of past major events and activities.
The handover of the outgoing management committee to the newly elected management committee was also witnessed at the Annual General Meeting, with letters of appreciation being given to all outgoing committees and letters of appointment being given to all incoming committees. Ms. Ng Woon Yee then delivered her speech and outlined the NTU Heritage Club’s annual work plan for AY22/23. Mr. Kevin Yok delivered his speech about the club’s visions and missions for the future year following the Q&A session. PNP then took the initiative to have a photo-taking session and the meeting was adjourned at 8:53 PM.
Referring to the Post-Event Feedback Form, the participants highlighted that the event was done very smoothly and informatively. We have achieved an average score of 4.64/5.0 for the overall flow of the event, 4.67/5.0 for the enrichment of understanding, 4.65/5.0 for the quality of presentation, and lastly 4.78/5.0 for the duration of the event.
