Heritage Week

Date: 16-17 February 2023

Time: 10am  –  5pm

Venue: Green Space (North Spine)

Heritage Week is a special event organized by NTU Heritage Club every academic year with the aim of raising the awareness and interest of NTU community in cultural heritage knowledge by bringing to campus interactive game booths and various kinds of performances. Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic, NTU Heritage Club has not organized Heritage Week in lieu of Safety Distancing Measures (SMM) guidelines. As Singapore slowly transitions into the post-pandemic era, it marks the return of Heritage Week with the theme “Rediscovering Singapore: A Melting Pot of Culture” which will serve as an excellent opportunity for the participants to “rediscover” their own culture, or even broaden their knowledge on the other cultures of Singapore through various interactive game booths and cultural performances.

This year’s Heritage Week also featured some amazing performances from passionate and talented students from NTU, which includes the Lion Dance & Dragon Dance Troupe, Dewi Samudera, CAC Wushu, CAC Chinese Dance and Sports Club Silat. The performances provided an alternate perspective for the students to peek into each other’s culture by conveying said culture in a story that is presented in the form of singing, dancing, and acting.

Lastly, this year’s Heritage Week was very much successful thanks to the support of our guest of honour, Associate Provost of Student Life, Associate Professor Victor Yeo Chuan Seng, and many other guests who chose to stop-by and support our event despite their busy schedules. The committee sincerely believes that the support by the NTU administration truly provided the motivation for the student helpers to put in their best efforts to make this cultural exchange a unique and successful one.
