Heritage Club Initiative (HCI) under NTU Heritage Club kick-started the brand new event of the year – Heritage Reunion Day.
It was an event for all the club members, including the main committees and subcommittees of the club to forge a stronger bond and interact with people who share the same passion for heritage and culture, while indulging in the Chinese New Year atmosphere. This event also aimed at exposing participants to the culture and tradition adopted by Southeast Asian Chinese.
Participants were allocated in groups of 9 or 10, for total of 5 groups, were allowed to break the ice, guided by Game Masters. Event officially commenced with Opening Speech by Vice President of the club, Kevin Yok.
The indoor Team Building session commenced in 4 activities for more than an hour. First activity was Chinese Zodiac Story Telling conducted by the emcee of the event. Participants were amused by the interesting story regarding the origin of Chinese Zodiacs. Second activity of the session is 2D paper cutting, where participants are guided to cut a 2D rabbit out of a sheet of paper. Third activity was a 3D paper cutting, with each participant producing a 3D Chinese Character ‘春’, which means ‘spring’ in Chinese. Our last activity of the session was the paper folding session, where participants make CNY-themed fan using origami.
The atmosphere was filled with laughter. It was apparent that everyone had a blast getting to know each other and enjoying the games together.
The event was then followed by Chinese Calligraphy session, Ink Blowing session and Yusheng + CNY snacks session. Heritage Reunion Day came to an exhilarating end with the Yusheng + CNY snacks session. The culture and tradition of Lo Hei Sayings accompanied by Yusheng was led by Kevin Yok. Everyone had a fair share of food and snacks, enjoying the traditional CNY snacks.
