Building Financial Literacy for a Responsible Generation

17 – 18 March 2026 • NTU Investment Interactive Club (NTU-IIC)

Event Overview

The Singapore Global Money Week (SGMW) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is spearheaded by the NTU Investment Interactive Club (NTU-IIC), is an annual financial awareness campaign designed to inspire children and young people to learn about money matters, livelihoods, and entrepreneurship. GMW aims to empower the younger generation to make informed financial decisions and ensure their economic security. By achieving these objectives, SGMW at NTU will not only enhance the financial literacy of our students but also contribute to the broader goal of fostering a financially aware and responsible generation on an international level. Through various interactive activities and expert talks, we strive to make financial education engaging and accessible to all participants.

Event Highlights

Unprecedented scale of interactive booths

SGMW 2025’s biggest highlight was the unprecedented scale of its interactive booth activities—the first-ever financial fair of this magnitude at NTU. With 24 diverse booths covering key financial concepts, we ensured that students from all academic backgrounds could engage with financial literacy in an accessible and enjoyable way. From investment basics and scam awareness to budgeting challenges and risk profiling, each booth was designed to make financial topics relatable. The overwhelming turnout proved that hands-on, gamified learning resonates with students and makes financial education more impactful.

Diversity of booths

The diversity of booth topics was another standout aspect, ensuring there was something for everyone, regardless of their financial knowledge. This broad range of topics allowed SGMW 2025 to bridge financial literacy gaps and ensure that every participant walked away with valuable insights. Specifically, booths on scam prevention and financial myth-busting were particularly popular, as they provided immediately applicable knowledge for daily life.

Stamp reward system

To maximize engagement, we introduced a stamp reward system, recognizing that incentivized learning is particularly effective for the younger generation. As students participated in different booth activities, they collected stamps, making their learning journey both interactive and goal oriented. This system not only encouraged exploration across various financial topics but also fostered a sense of excitement and accomplishment. By turning financial education into a fun, game-like experience, we successfully captured student interest and motivated them to immerse themselves in the learning process.

Meanwhile, the Financial Colloquium brought industry experts to share insights on financial independence, smart investing, and long-term wealth-building strategies. Future Plans

A major highlight of SGMW 2026 will be its 18 interactive game booths, designed to transform abstract financial concepts into hands-on simulations and scenario-based challenges. Alongside these, engaging exhibitions will provide clear insights into global money trends, financial terminology, and practical applications, all aligned with the official Global Money Week theme. The colloquium will continue to serve as a cornerstone of the event, bringing together professors and industry experts to share knowledge on investing, budgeting, and financial planning, effectively bridging academic theories with real-world practices.

Participants can also look forward to the Financial Quiz Challenge and Stage Activities, both gamified experiences that reinforce essential lessons in the finance world. To complete the experience, SGMW 2026 will feature a lucky draw and themed photo booth, creating both meaningful learning and memorable moments for participants. By blending education with interactive engagement, SGMW 2026 advances NTU-IIC’s mission of building a financially responsible student community.

New Initiatives for 2026

SGMW 2026 introduces exciting new initiatives designed to expand the event’s impact. For the first time, SGMW will include students from NUS, SMU, and other universities, creating a national platform that fosters inter-university partnerships and collaboration on financial literacy. This new approach will strengthen the collective effort to empower students with the knowledge to make informed financial decisions.

Additionally, SGMW 2026 plans to forge deeper collaborations with corporates, financial institutions, and student clubs, enriching the event’s resources and ensuring a more holistic, future-focused learning experience. Notably, interactive workshops with influential industry representatives will offer students invaluable insights into the latest financial trends and career opportunities, making this year’s edition more dynamic and engaging than ever before.

Looking Ahead

In short, SGMW 2026 continues its mission of making financial education engaging, practical, and accessible to students not only across the NTU community but also throughout Singapore. We feature a diverse mix of interactive activities, professional insights, and opportunities for students to apply their financial knowledge in real-world scenarios.
