National Cashflow Competition (NCF) [2015-2019] – “Era of Innovation and Localization”
In 2015, the NTU Investment Interactive Club (NTU-IIC) innovated the competition by introducing a Singapore-centric board game, Asset Finesse™. Developed by the late David Ng, NTU-IIC’s 16th Executive Vice President, Asset Finesse™ was tailored to reflect the unique financial landscape of Singapore. This new game provided participants with a more localized and relevant financial education experience. The competition continued to utilize Asset Finesse™ in 2016, reinforcing its popularity and effectiveness.
The year 2017 marked the introduction of the Praxis board game, further diversifying the learning tools used in the competition. Praxis brought in new elements and challenges, ensuring participants remained engaged and continued to develop their financial skills.
In 2018, SmartCo introduced L Cube, a gamified and digitalized game that involved electronic gadgets. This innovative approach incorporated technology to enhance the learning experience, making the competition more interactive and modern.
Building on the success of L Cube, SmartCo developed L Cube Pro in 2019. This version included more complex elements to challenge participants, pushing them to apply advanced financial strategies and think critically under pressure. The evolution of the competition’s tools and games over the years reflects NTU-IIC’s commitment to continuously improving financial education and keeping the competition dynamic and engaging.
