NCF 2020 – 2024: “Adaptation and Resurgence”

National Cashflow Competition (NCF) [2020-2024] – “Adaptation and Resurgence”

The 2020 National Cashflow Competition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a significant disruption that underscored the need for adaptability and resilience.

In 2021, NTU-IIC collaborated with Central Provident Fund (CPF) to organize a seminar and crossword challenge. This event marked a shift towards incorporating educational seminars into the competition, providing participants with valuable insights and knowledge from industry experts.

In 2022, the competition emphasized the need to adapt to the ongoing challenges posed by the pandemic. As a result, the entire event was conducted online, including the launch of Debtzilla by Capital Gains Studio. This new game enriched the educational aspect of the event while the fully online format ensured accessibility and safety for all participants. Integrating seminars into the National Cashflow Competition for the first time, this approach emphasized a comprehensive learning experience that combined gameplay with expert-led discussions.

The year 2023 marked the reinstatement of the in-person National Cashflow Competition after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic. This event saw a remarkable 2.25-fold increase in participation, highlighting the growing interest and enthusiasm for financial literacy. The competition also integrated life goals into L Cube Pro, providing participants with a holistic approach to financial planning and decision-making.

In 2024, the competition continued to use L Cube Pro but began to introduce elements of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations, sustainable finance, and sustainable investments. This shift reflects NTU-IIC’s recognition of the importance of sustainability in modern finance and its commitment to educating participants on these crucial topics.
