Feeling stressed out from all the studying? Wanna relax your weekend away, appreciate some art or get your groove on? Listed below are some exciting arts and cultural events happening in Singapore in the month of October.

Got to Move is the first nationwide dance movement organised by the National Arts Council (NAC) to celebrate the diversity of dance in Singapore.  If you’re feeling the need to dance, learn and appreciate different kinds of dances, or simply want to grab the freebies and free food, head down to one of the events below and have a blast!

 

Tanjong Goodman

Date: 22 October, Saturday

Time: 1200-2000

Venue: Goodman Arts Centre

Head down for an array of free activities of various dance genres, from classes and workshops, to film screenings and performances

 

Unlock and Roll

Date: 23 October, Sunday

Time: 1100-1500

Venue: Bedok Town Square

Head down for an interactive dance floor in the middle of Bedok, unlock booths and receive freebies!

Body Electric brings together the year’s best works by dancers from four tertiary institutions in a celebration of contemporary dance. Let them captivate you with their riveting performances from NTU Contemp{minated}, SMU InDancity, SIM Dance Art, NUS Dance Synergy and NUS Dance Ensemble choreographed by Hong Guofeng, Dan Kwoh, Kenneth Tan, Albert Tiong and  Zaini Tahir.

What better way to end off the month by visiting a photo exhibition carefully curated by our friends from the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication? With the impending closure of the Rochor estate, the photo exhibition provides a visual presentation of different families’ journey in and out of Rochor. What’s more, there will be a carnival with games and photobooth for your enjoyment! Come on down to support your fellow friends in charge of this wonderful event!
