NTU-USPians bid goodbye to Monday blues and took a walk down memory lane as they gathered at Crespion Function Hall last week for UrSpecialPast, the final Exam Welfare Pack (EWP) event for the academic year.
As this semester’s EWP event was retro-themed, NTU-USPians took inspirations from local fashion trends in 1970s, and came dressed in polka dots, neon and floral.
The evening kicked off with a sumptuous buffet as NTU-USPians formed a snaking queue with their reusable cutleries. After which, scholars flocked to the traditional ice-cream sandwich cart and the neatly displayed old school snacks to treat themselves.
NTU-USP band members from various batches soon took over the stage and captivated the audience, who started singing along in unison.
Once the audience were hyped up, emcees Huang Wenya from Year 1 Psychology and Alicia Mak Ka Yean from Year 1 Accountancy & Business facilitated some inter-batch bonding through the nostalgia-evoking games ‘Guess the Baby’, ‘Guess the Childhood TV Show Songs’ and charades. Enthusiastic participants reminisced their childhood and laughter filled the hall as various baby photos were flashed on the screen.
As promised, old-school prizes, such as the Good Morning Towel, were also distributed to the Best Dressed attendees.
Also not forgetting – the iconic dragon playground which the Arts, Cultural & Social Affairs (ACSA) committee had dedicatedly designed for the photo booth backdrop.
NTU-USPians dragged their peers towards the booth to snap polaroid films, just like the good ol’ days.
To end off the night, members in the Business Managers sub-committee distributed the EWPs filled with snacks and useful stationery to help NTU-USPians gear up for their finals.
