The 8th Asia-Pacific NMR Symposium (APNMR) was held successfully at the School of Biological Sciences (SBS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) from 3 to 6 July 2019.

The APNMR symposium is a signature scientific platform to bring Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) research community together in the Asia-Pacific region for promoting scientific exchange and international collaboration. This was another high-quality symposium consisting of scientific and technical sessions covering all aspects of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Research including solution state, solid state, metabolomics, magnetic imaging and drug discovery.

We had the honour of having His Excellency Ahn Young Jip, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Singapore grace the opening ceremony and Professor Subra Suresh (President, NTU) deliver the opening address. There were 254 registered participants, one keynote and five plenary lectures by distinguished scientists, and more than 180 papers discussed by invited speakers, oral and poster presentations.

About the Asia-Pacific NMR Symposium

APNMR 2019 is the 8th series of the “Asia-Pacific Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Symposia,” after the previous symposia held in Yokohama, Japan (2005), Taipei, Taiwan (2007), Jeju, Korea (2009), Beijing, China (2011), Brisbane, Australia (2013), Hong Kong (2015), Bangalore, India (2017). It was organized by the 8th APNMR Symposium Singapore Committee, led by Professor Yoon Ho Sup from NTU SBS as the Conference Chair, and the Co-Chair, Professor Yang Daiwen from National University of Singapore (NUS), and consisted of 11 other committee members from NTU, NUS and Agency for Science, Technology, and Research (A*STAR).
