Eleven outstanding Chemistry students from the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) were presented with the Dr Goh Lai Yoong Bursary and Awards at a ceremony held on 29 October 2020.
In 2010, the Dr Goh Lai Yoong Endowment Fund was set up in conjunction with the launch of Dr Goh’s autobiography, “Follow the Chemistry: Lure, Lore and Life”. The fund provides scholarship awards and bursaries for talented female students in the Division of Chemistry, with the goal of inspiring and encouraging more young women to venture into science, research and academia.
The awardees for the Goh Lai Yoong Bursary, the Goh Lai Yoong Award, and the Goh Lai Yoong Best FYP Project Award will each receive $2000, $500, and $150 respectively.
