Jonathan Lee Houjin, 2010 graduate
Regional Publications Manager
https://www.linkedin.com/in/jonathan-lee-11169134/

Jonathan’s career journey since finishing undergraduate in 2010 could be best described as a series of chance events. He always thought he knew what he wanted to do after graduation, but life has shown him that you need to be willing to explore opportunities that come along. Initially aimed for work in hospital laboratories, he then considered being a university lecturer which led him to pursue a PhD. He however, again, had a change of mind and decided research was not for him. A year as a stay home dad in Sydney and a series of failed job applications saw him stumbling into the intriguing industry of medical writing.

With little experience, he started as an associate medical writer in two different companies before landing his job now as a Regional Publication Manager in the major pharma company, Takeda Pharmaceuticals.

Nasirah Banu Ramirez, 2010 graduate
Senior Financial Consultant
http://www.linkedin.com/in/nasirahbanu2018/

After graduating in 2010, Nasirah took the conventional pathway into research where she worked on T-cell redirected therapy project under Antonio Bertoletti in A*Star. With the guidance attained in the lab, she gained technical and managing skills, which led to working on pioneer projects.

After her stint in research, Nasirah took the challenge and dived into the unknown territory of financial advisory. Starting out with full of doubt and fear, 5 years on, she has now managed to place herself in the achievement scoreboard at top 20% of Financial Advisors in Singapore and top 2% of Financial Advisors in a Globally Recognised Award called Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT).
