NTU College of Science held its annual Career Talk on 28 January 2023. Ever since the event’s introduction back in 2020, the Career Talks were only held virtually. However, 2023 was the first time it was run as a hybrid event – both physical and virtual audience were present!

Held at The Joyden Hall in Bugis+, College alumni were invited to share their experiences on both their careers as well as university life. The alumni came from a variety of working backgrounds, showing how a degree in science can lead to diverse career paths for College graduates. The speakers were:

Ang Ko Hong, a data engineer;

Daniel Lukamto, a senior scientist;

Luiza Lee, a vice-president in regional relationship management;

Soon Kit Ying, a coastal protection planner;

and Vicki Tay, a global accounts manager.

Students from various junior colleges and polytechnics, as well as international students, joined the Career Talk virtually or came down with their family members to attend the event in-person.

After a sharing session from Associate Professor Chong Yidong, Associate Chair (Students), and the alumni, students had the chance to pose their questions on life after graduation to the speakers during a Q&A session.

The College of Science looks forward to providing more opportunities for prospective students to rub shoulders with the College’s alumni and to hosting the next Career Talk in 2024.
