While the UK has University Challenge, a quiz show involving competing university students, the College of Science has it very own CoS Challenge. Modelled after the University Challenge and held over the course of a couple of weeks in February, the 2023 edition of the CoS Challenge saw teams from each of the College’s four Schools competing to win SGD500 worth of shopping vouchers and the title of “Best Team.” Teams had to answer a series of questions in each round, with topics ranging from Science to Popular Culture and from General Knowledge to NTU-related trivia.

After several exciting preliminary and semi-final rounds, it was down to four teams to go head-to-head in the finals on the evening of 17 February in front of a virtual and live audience at Nanyang Auditorium.

Following a series of 30 gruelling questions, team GPA 6.0 emerged as the overall winners of CoS Challenge 2023, with teams SciHub Veterans in 2nd Place, Waffle in 3rd, and Mr. Mok’s Megaminds in 4th.

The evening also saw Clan Athena from CCEB winning the “Best House/Clade/Clan” award and ASE winning the “Best School” award based on points earned by the Schools’ teams during the preliminary rounds. All the prizes were graciously presented to the students by Professor Chew Lock Yue, Associate Dean (Students).
