Established in 2007, the Murray Goodman Scientific Excellence & Mentorship Award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated career-long research excellence in the field of peptide science. In addition, the selected individual should have been responsible for significant mentorship and training of students, post-doctoral fellows, and/or other co-workers. This award is presented at the biennial American Peptide Symposia. Past recipients include scientists from Purdue University, Indiana and University of Toronto, Canada.
The recipient for the 2023 Murray Goodman Scientific Excellence & Mentorship Award is Professor James P. Tam, visiting professor at NTU School of Biological Sciences, for his pioneering research in the areas of chemoenzymatic peptide ligation, peptide dendrimers as vaccines and therapeutics and plant-derived bioactive peptides, and for outstanding international leadership and mentorship in the peptide science community.
We congratulate Professor Tam on receiving this prestigious award in recognition of his hard work and scientific contributions!
