In September, the College of Science – assisted by a group of our Indonesian student ambassadors, Indonesian alumni, and with several of our faculty members – travelled to Jakarta to meet and greet students from more than 15 schools in the region.
Over 250 attendees, made up of students and their parents and teachers, turned up to see how they could embark on a journey of scientific discovery with the College of Science. The event was opened by our Dean, Professor Simon Redfern, followed by an introduction to the College by Associate Professor Tan Howe Siang, from the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology. Attendees then enjoyed talks from our student ambassador, Fernando, who showed them what life is like as a College undergraduate, and our alumni, Ms. Jessica and Mr. Boutros, who gave a glimpse at what career options were open to them once they complete their journey with NTU Science.
With the success of the event, and the overwhelming enthusiasm shown by the students and their parents and teachers, the College looks forward to hosting another overseas outreach event in the near future. We wish to thank all who attended and we hope to see you on campus!
