Each year during the convocation period, the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) looks forward to congratulating all its graduates. It also wishes to acknowledge those who have won academic awards befitting their exceptional academic grades and outstanding final year projects.
Lee Kuan Yew Gold Medal
The Lee Kuan Yew Gold Medal is awarded each year to the top graduating student in each of the School’s programmes of study. This year, the Gold Medal has been awarded to Khor Sze Chong, Bachelor of Science in Mathematical and Computer Sciences (Double Major), and Fong Wan Hang, Bachelor of Science in Physics/Applied Physics.
Koh Boon Hwee Scholars Award
Once known as the University Scholars Award, the Koh Boon Hwee Scholars Award seeks to recognise the accomplishments of students who have demonstrated excellent academic performance, leadership abilities, and great potential for societal contribution. This year, the Award goes to Tang Yi Qwan, Bachelor of Science in Mathematical and Computer Sciences (Double Major).
KK Phua Gold Medal
The KK Phua Gold Medal recognises the School’s graduating students with the most outstanding research work. This year, the Medal has been awarded to Chan Joshua Juan Yin, Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences.
Singapore Mathematical Society Gold Medal cum Book Prize
The Singapore Mathematical Society Gold Medal cum Book Prize recognises the School’s outstanding undergraduates in the Division of Mathematical Sciences. This year, the Gold Medal cum Book Prize goes to Khor Sze Chong, Bachelor of Science in Mathematical and Computer Sciences (Double Major).
Shell Eastern Petroleum Gold Medal cum Cash Award
The Shell Eastern Petroleum Gold Medal cum Cash Award recognises outstanding undergraduates in the Division of Physics and Applied Physics. This year, the Gold Medal cum Cash Award goes to Fong Wan Hang, Bachelor of Science in Physics/Applied Physics.
Staff Recreation Club Book Prize
The Staff Recreation Club Book Prize recognises outstanding final year undergraduates from the Mathematical Sciences and Economics programme who have achieved the highest marks in their final year projects. This year, the Book Prize goes to Magdalene Lim Hui Qi, Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences and Economics (Double Major).
Ng Kong Beng Best Project Prize in Mathematical Sciences
The Ng Kong Beng Best Project Prize in Mathematical Sciences recognises graduating students with the best performance in their final year projects in the Division of Mathematical Sciences. This year, the Prize goes to Chen Zeyi, Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences.
Tan Chun Ghee Book Prize
The Tan Chun Ghee Book Prize recognises graduating students from the Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences or the degree of Bachelor of Science in Physics and Applied Physics who have shown exceptional performance in their semester-long internships. This year, the Book Prize goes to Lee Cai Ping, Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences
