Educational institutions have impacted us in our younger years in one way or another. It is no wonder then that they have a special place in our hearts, no matter how bitter or sweet those memories are. And the chances to go back to these places, to rekindle some sense of nostalgia, are few and far between. To many NTU alumni, the recently organised NTU Alumni Homecoming 2022 event on 15 October 2022 was not only a chance for them to revisit their alma mater, but for some to show their young ones where their parents once studied.
Throughout the afternoon and into the evening, the NTU Alumni Homecoming had numerous talks and networking sessions organised by the various Schools and Colleges. Faculty and volunteers from the College of Science organised classroom demonstrations and hands-on activities for alumni and their families to learn how science makes a difference in their everyday lives, and to introduce some of the latest discoveries from the College of Science.
With the great turnout by generations of NTU alumni and their families, the College of Science looks forward to more Homecoming events and the chance to meet old students and their new families in the future.
“The NTU Alumni Homecoming 2022 was a great success. It was great to see alumni and their families, enjoying themselves at their alma mater, while learning about the wonders of science,” said the Dean of the College of Science, Prof Simon Redfern.
