Each year, the Touch of the Hearts (TOTs) committee engages fellow student residents to interact with the beneficiaries of partnering organisations, such as volunteering for their activities, before holding a finale event at a public place to garner further support for the organisation. Over the years, the students’ efforts have paid off immensely as they raise an average of $18,000 for their beneficiary each year.

In AY 2013/14, the Hall adopted Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS) as their beneficiary and held a 2-day carnival event. The event featured not just NTU student performers but also other student volunteers from secondary schools and pre-tertiary institutions as well as performers from OB Music and Lee Wei Song School of Music. Game booth and food stalls were also set up to draw in the crowd at Causeway Point.

Aside from raising funds, TOTs aim was to raise awareness among the public towards people with intellectual disability. Together with MINDS, they set out with the mission of letting people know about their capabilities and to correct certain misconceptions and stereotypes.
