Description
“Why is a raven like a writing desk?”
Enthused by the innocence of an eight year old whose greatest wish in life is to grow up, own a castle so that she can be a princess, this dress is designed for the child within us.
As Picasso fondly puts it, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” As children, we are raring to grow up, to be more capable and to be important. No one warned us though, that we might just grow out of enjoying simple fun like popping a rainbow umbrella in the rain. We forget the beautiful moment where the world melts into colorful chaos in that umbrella. We forget that we can let ourselves go.
‘Have you guessed the riddle yet?’ the Hatter said, turning to Alice again.’No, I give it up,’ Alice replied: ‘what’s the answer?’’I haven’t the slightest idea,’ said the Hatter.
Don’t forget your umbrella.
Medium
Metal umbrella structure, Bicycle brake cable, Polyester fabric, Lilypad and string light, Arduino Lilypad, Buzzer
Techniques
Employing the mechanism of an umbrella, the tutu-like dress can extend into a gown when the child pulls down the two knobs in front. This also triggers the dress to light up and make playful sounds
