Welcome to #askLKCMedicine. Here, you can learn more about the modern and innovative five-year Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme offered by the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine). We are a partnership between two of the world’s finest universities – Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) and Imperial College London. Our first doctors graduated in 2018 with MBBS degrees awarded jointly by the two universities. Since then, they have been joined by two more cohorts of students. Our young doctors are now working at the frontline in our fight against Covid-19, caring for their patients.
Our scientists and doctors are learning more about this new virus almost every day. They are using this knowledge to search for effective treatments and vaccines. They also share their expert advice with governments to develop policies that will help to keep us safe. While we face much uncertainty, one thing remains clear: now more than ever, we need to redefine medicine and transform healthcare.
As you consider where to pursue your dream to study medicine, you need to find the right programme for you. At LKCMedicine, you will be trained to reach the highest professional standards in the care you give to patients. We have developed a modern curriculum that is characterised by its innovative approaches and early patient contact. You will be taught by world-class experts, work in teams in a high-tech environment and gain experience from the start – in hospitals, patients’ homes and in all the settings where care is delivered.
At the end of your training, your strong understanding of the scientific basis of medicine, with an emphasis on technology, data science and the humanities, will prepare you to be a confident and competent medical practitioner.
