 Librarian (Arts Culture SG)(NLSCS)

 Responsibilities

  • Execute content selection policies and procedures for NLB content aggregated into
    ArtsCultureSG
  • Prepare ITQ specifications for content development projects for ITQ submission
    through Gebiz
  • Upload content and submit metadata content to NLB e-platforms (e.g. NORA, Infopedia)
    that would also be aggregated into ArtsCultureSG portal
  • Track progress as well as the budget expenditure for content development for
    ArtsCultureSG portal
  • Maintain and communicate content selection criteria for ArtsCultureSG to
    partners in the project
  • Identify new partner organizations that can contribute to ArtsCultureSG and
    liaise with them for possibilities of collaboration
  • Draft, execute and file copyright clearance agreements that have been signed
    by partner organizations in regards to their contributed content
  • Perform secretariat duties for ArtsCultureSG project               
  • Participate as a user group representative in the ArtsCultureSG project team to provide
    reference staff and end-user perspectives’ feedback on UI specifications for the national portal
  • Conduct research on Singapore arts and cultural pioneers
  • Complete originally-written biographical articles and resource guides on highlighted
    Singapore pioneers
  • Assist in documentation on Singapore’s arts and cultural scene

 Requirements

  • Bachelor degree with 2 to 5 years of relevant working experience
  • Master in Information Studies or Graduate Diploma in Information Studies would
    be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of international cataloguing, metadata and indexing standards and protocols
  • Experience in library collection acquisition and reference services
  • Excellent command of the English language and communication skills (writing and speaking)
  • Domain knowledge with good research skills
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, MS Word / Excel / PowerPoint
  •  Experience in website maintenance and HTML proficiency would be an advantage
