Research has found that colours, when used appropriately, can not only promote the development of children’s brains, and improve memory, but also help strengthen children’s control of emotions. Local schools and parents have applied this principle to create activity spaces conducive to children’s learning. Asst Prof Luo Lizhu from NTU’s SSS said that when children look at different colours, they may have different emotional responses. Avoiding vibrant colours in children’s learning environments can help them maintain calm and improve their cognitive function.
