Cloning will not improve dog breeds as cloning is a complex process which makes a copy of the exact organism (donor). Hence, there won’t be any improvement as compared to the donor. Improvement might be achieved via genetic modification.

Cloned dogs may be genetically abnormal or suffer from problems which results in shortened lifespan. This could lead to abandonment. Currently, there are thousands of dogs being out to sleep. Thus, cloning of more dogs would result in more social problems.

2.

Pros
They can last longer as compared to regular crops.
Genetic modified corn is able to resist harsh condition this it could last through drought

Cons
Other crops may be affected or killed due to presence of genetic modified corn.
Some people may not accept the consumption of genetic modified food which could cause this group of people to be in hunger.

I would accept it.

A) C6(H2O)6
B)
C) No, different isomers have different chemical properties

2.

It is not possible for the food to be free of chemical because even water is a chemical. There are other ways such as using fresh food when possible to reduce exposure to chemicals. Additionally, we can avoid the use of plastics when cooking, preparing food and storing food.

Styrofoam is expanded polystyrene. When styrofoam is treated with acetone, the acetone collapses the physical structure of styrofoam. The air trapped within styrofoam is released when acetone is added.

2.

A) if branches HDPE is used, the packing of HDPE would not be compact which will contribute to a certain degree of softness to the gloves. This might lower the strength and the resistance of gloves to being cut.
B) HDPE molecules must align in a manner that produces the necessary strength. Using a thin liner of HDPE allows efficient flexibility.

3.

When plastic ages being stretched, molecules move so t hat they are more aligned to the direction where they are being pulled towards. If bag is stretched sufficiently, an almost complete alignment is reached causing a neck to form. The neck has a nearly crystalline structure.

Paper is made of fibers called cellulose. Cellulose are stuck together with lignin, a natural glue. The cellulose fibers can only be separated when lignin is removed. Therefore, paper cannot be stretched easily.

4.

A) will not evoke a sustained inflammatory response, produce non toxic degradation products that can be readily absorbed or excreted, include appropriate permeability and processability for designed application, possess a degradation time coinciding with their function.
B) polymethyl methacrylate is one of the earliest polymers used for rigid gas permeable lenses. It’s structurally similar to lucite and plexiglas. Polymacon which has 38% of water in composition is typical of the polymers used for soft lenses and it’s a polymer of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate. It’s important because it possesses hydrophilic properties.
C) hard contact lenses are made of poly methyl methacrylate which is rigid non gas permeable plastic while soft contact lenses are made of silicone which is flexible and allows oxygen to reach our eyes.

Carbon atoms can differ in term of number of neutrons as C12 and C13. They also can differ in term of number of electrons as C+ (cation) and C-(carbanion).
The 3 ways that all carbon atoms differ from all uranium atom are in terms of number of protons, neutrons and electrons. Their chemical properties also different.

2.

N indicates the element nitrogen and can include all its naturally occurring isotopes. The symbol 14N and 15N is more defined, indicating the nucleon number of nitrogen.hence, this allows one to distinguish between isotopes of nitrogen.

This is because desalination is inefficient. Only 1% of drinking water requires 12500 desalination plants. Low yield and high energy consumption.

2.

Water soluble vitamins to because “like dissolves like”. As water is a polar solvent compounds that are soluble in water would be polar. Fat soluble vitamins are not able to dissolve in water thus making them non polar.

3.

a) instead of using dryer, drying naturally reduces energy consumption and reduces any possible emission of gases that cause acid rain.
B) walking and cycling does not require the burning of fossil fuels while taking public transport can reduce the number of cars on the road and hence lesser nitrogen dioxide is emitted.
C) accumulate the dishes and clothes such that they can be washed in big batches instead of small loads, reducing the energy consumption resulting in reduction of substances that would cause acid rain.
D) insulator will conserve more heat, thus lesser energy is used.
E) there will be lesser import and export of food, reducing the use of aero planes and ships, reducing emission of nitrogen dioxide from transportation.

4.

A) coal fired plants emit high amou by of sulphur dioxide. Sulphur dioxide can react with water to form sulphuric acid. ,any molecules of sulfuric acid forms tiny droplets which reflect sunlight rather than absorbing sunlight. This reduces visibility
B) assume rain water pH as 5″ pH of the rainwater in the park would be 4. This is because a pH change of 1 unit represents a power of 19 change in the concentration of H+

1.

A) Exothermic, energy is released in the burning process.
B) Endothermic, heat has to be absorbed in order for the water to evaporate (overcoming hydrogen bond) . The body cools as a results
C) Endothermic, heat has to be absorbed to overcome the intermolecular forces, the hydrogen bonding between water molecules.

2.

For a good explosion, the relative bond strengths of products should be way stronger, so that more heat will be released upon formation. For a better explosion, gaseous reactants are more effective.

3.

Heat of an object refers to the kinetic energy in the object. Temperature is a form of heat measurement. Heating of water can be a an example. As water heats up, the molecules gain more heat energy and move faster, this will be reflected with a rise in temperature.

4.

A) it means a knocking characteristic of 98% isooctane and 2% of heptane. The octane rating is a measure of the ability of the gasoline to burn smoothly without knocking.
B) The rating does not indicate if the fuel contains oxygenates. Information on oxygenates can be found on the other labels.
