First to the supermarket, then to school!

Shopping for frozen foods hardly comes out tops in an undergrad’s daily list of priorities. After all, there is always someone else to do the groceries and prepare the sumptuous dinners we enjoy after a tough day at school (right?). Well, getting our hands cold and frosty was the order of the day for my fun-loving friends and me the past month! We turned from students to frozen food gurus faster than you can microwave popcorn. And our motivation? Ta-da!

We weren’t (just) fixated by the whopping twelve grand staring back at us. It was the unique, out-of-the-classroom chance to learn about the foods we so love to see on our dining tables – this time from a marketing perspective. Curiosity got the better of us, and we soon found ourselves peppered by thoughts like “Where are CP Foods placed in the frozen section?”, “What is the texture of that packaging?” and “Why did THAT catch my eye?”. As “supermarket investigators”, we put on our marketing hats and let our business acumen do the reasoning!

But where’s the fun without a team logo? Inspired by the ripples of laughter during our meetings, we came up with the tag, “Triple Ripple” (it rhymes!), with a cute penguin mascot to boot:

Okay, so we aren’t the best of artists, but there’s a saying: “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”.  The next time you shop at the supermarket, you may just spot me there.
