Al Gore had once said that sentence. Simple as it is, it reflects the bare truth we all face.
We, as homo sapiens, have caused global warming through our decades of cumulative actions that did not consider about Earth. We are, as Al Gore said, entering a phase of consequences. Coral reefs degradation is one of the many, many effects of global warming.
Global warming affects the Earth on a large scale. It is global. The coral reefs throughout the world, are poor victims of our specie’s past and present faults that contributed to the warming up of Earth.
To sum up the global threats to coral reefs, there are mainly 2 main threats: Climate change and change in ocean chemistry. Both are related to global warming.
