Growth of economy

The growth of our economy has always been a goal of the government ever since it was established. Here are some of the graphs depicting the growth of the economy over the years.

The government creates compulsory education, among other policies, to increase the knowledge of it s people to help boost its economy and social standings. This has brought about many advantages in terms of better living conditions and a safe and secure city, but also has its disadvantages including using people, its only resource as a cornerstone and building block which will ultimately destroy the environment. As the economy grows, so will costs of living, amongst other things. This is a graph of the Increase in the Price Index of property over the years.

More money, more people, more buildings, everything increases and technology supports and helps makes things faster. The one thing that doesn’t increase is nature. Our earth and natural forests are getting lesser and lesser. The biodiversity we once had is now nothing more than a few small areas of forested areas, constantly being attacked by businessman who aims to convert Singapore into a fully urbanized city for profits. It is a constant battle between conserving our environment and economic growth, with nature suffering a loss. Nature is being subordinated for economic growth. (Clayton & Myers , 2009) Unless we do something about it, the next time you look out of the window, there will be no green, just buildings and people.
