Firstly, I will be discussing the many similarities between Leopold’s and deep ecology’s ideas and aims.

Next, I will be looking at how Leopold’s environmental identity developed from his childhood affliations with nature, focusing on his attachment to outdoor places, the influence and encouragement of his father, and Leopold’s own ecological self.

Finally, since Leopold’s Land Ethic is non-anthropocentric, and sine he discusses how we should respect nature, I will be briefly discussing his environmental virtues of respect and humility towards nature.
