The media in Singapore understands its pivotal role in shaping people’s opinion hence in the 6^th Asia-Europe Journalists’ Seminar 2011, Singapore media (Strait Times was our representative) participated along with other countries. The main discussion during the seminar was how to boost the media effectiveness in changing the global response towards climate change. Some of the suggestions brought up during the seminar among others were trying to link the repercussions of climate change to one’s social life, to cultural issues etc, further  it was suggested that people should be made aware of what in closed door negotiations regarding climate change, as this will make them a more active participant rather than a passive one.
