Buddhists are taught to love the nature, as such they see trees and plants as living beings as well. On January 19 2013, MMF took part in two events organized by MFF grantee Phu Thoi Pagoda. At the award ceremony, which took place in Tien Giang Province, Vietnam, Monk Thich Thien Chau re-emphasized the Buddhist teaching of loving the nature and encouraged everyone to plant a mangrove each. 

School children also attended this event and gained new knowledge about their relationship with the nature.
