Build consensus and capacity

The government can involve stakeholders in decision making and management of reefs resources as they know best on how the reefs resources have been affected. Additionally, getting involved in the planning and decision making process creates a personal sense of responsibility and belonging to the plans they come up with.

The government can also continue to train and build capacity of reef stakeholders to manage and protect reefs through the ongoing workshops and gather feedbacks to improve these workshops. Support in terms of funding and manpower should also be provided to policy makers and planners in making long-term decisions and implementing improved polices that affect the survival of coral reefs.

Various organizations can also conduct more scientific research to build understanding of how particular reefs are affected by local activities and climate change to tailor a series of plans that suits different reefs affected by different activities.
