Dr Liang Wern Fook held a 3-day workshop in March 2021 on the topic of Chinese Mini Fiction. Mini Fiction, also known as Mini Novels, is a genre of fiction which is shorter in length than the Short Story yet still elaborate in its writing. Mini Fiction requires the writer to use the least number of words to express his or her ideas and beliefs. The beauty of Mini Fiction lies in the fact that it aims to convince a reader to accept the story put forward by the writer within a few minutes. At the same time, the writer should also strive to enlighten and move the reader even within such a short frame of time.
It was highly popular, and although class capacity was only at 20 people, we received over 80 registrations for the course. We would like to thank everyone who expressed interest, and we hope to organise more courses like these in the future. Do sign up for our mailing list and follow us on our socials so you know when we launch more courses!
