After leading an eye-opening discussion on poetry, what poets do, and what a reader of poetry might seek to do, Mary Jean introduced us to many different poets, styles, forms which opened up new avenues for expressing what we want to put to the page. Just as they modelled the way, I found my fellow poets encouraging, attentive and generous in sharing their work and their observations and suggestions! The opportunity to read our new work at the end was also treasured and exciting. I had lots of fun and felt motivated to write more and very importantly, edit too!
