In recent years, Singapore’s Chinese literary community has shown a growing interest in environmental and ecological themes. Writers are increasingly exploring issues related to sustainability, climate change, and the relationship between humans and nature. Hear from local Singapore writer, Hai Fan and Taiwanese writer Liu Ka-shiang, as they discuss how their writings reflect the evolving dialogues surrounding societal, human and environmental changes.
This programme is in Mandarin, and is co-presented with the Singapore Writers Festival.

About 刘克襄 Liu Ka-shiang
刘克襄(1957),作家、生态保育工作者。曾在报社副刊主编多年,并担任台湾中央通讯社董事长,以及公视「浩克慢游」主持人。多年创作过程里,常在港台各地乡野去来,善于以独特而深入的观点解析各类自然和社会议题。
Liu Ka-shiang’s literary career began with poetry. In the early 1980s, he sparked the “Liu Ka-shiang craze” with his critical view of the politics that reflected Taiwan’s social reality. At the same time, he also wrote proses about avian ecology and became a pioneer of Taiwanese nature writing.
刘克襄 Liu Ka-shiang will be a Visiting Writer from August 2024 to November 2024.
