Martin Reiser

Martin Reiser studied Electrical Engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH). His first career was with IBM where he was a Research Staff Member in Computer Science and later the director of the IBM Zürich Research Laboratory, famous for its Nobel prizes in physics.

In the mid 90’s, he was appointed director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Media Communication in Germany. There he started novel e-Culture projects. In 2008 he was recruited by NTU as the Founding Director of the Institute for Media Innovation and since 2011 as a visiting professor at the School of Art, Design and Media where he teaches Art and Technology and Media Programming.

Martin Reiser has a keen interest in the Arts, is an art collector and a photographer. His specialty is people in rural areas of South-East Asia as well as classical nude photography in the studio.
