Memento, a collaborative animated film, is an invitation to contemplate the intricacies of the human emotion experience. Delving into the nuances of our personal memories and materialising them into a watchable form, it enables us to reflect upon our own experiences and the emotions they evoke. Gaining a deeper understanding of ourselves for personal growth and self-discovery. The film utilises a train journey as a metaphor to depict the path of life. Sending the message that life, just like a train journeying through various stations, moves forward through different emotions.
Memento focuses on five emotions: Joy, Sorrow, Passion, Fear and Hope. Characters present in the film are each personified to a specific emotion, making their entrance and exit at various stations. A portrayal that our being is a culmination of all past experiences and emotions. This film strives to showcase an amalgamation of three fundamental art disciplines, namely 2D keyframe animation, 3D animation, and early Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques. Through experimenting with the motion capabilities of AI to generate a base animation with humanistic attributes, which is further built upon and refined, it allows for the fusion of these three disciplines to dramatically increase productivity.
‘Beneath The Heartstrings’ derived from the fact that deep within every mankind there’s an innate ability to be sensitive. However, only about 15-20% of the human population are highly sensitive. They are born with Highly Sensitive Personality (HSP), a personality tied to high sensory-processing sensitivity (SPS) trait. Due to this unique trait, they often undergo different experiences as compared to others who are in the same scenario and hence, get misunderstood very easily. Thus, ‘Beneath The Heartstrings’ is a project that sheds light on the trait in hopes that people will be more understanding of HSPs (highly sensitive people) by letting them experience what HSPs experience. Done through illustrations to dive deep into HSPs inner world, experimental motion work to showcase a part of what we experience internally in abstract form, and a toolkit filled with cards to educate and help individuals understand HSP better.
Painting your Odyssey focuses on the exploration of using multiple senses to attain a deeper and richer engagement with one’s surroundings. This particular exploration will focus on how the phenomenon of Synesthesia allows people to experience the world differently.
The world we live in today is often fast-paced, especially with the presence of social media. Our attention spans are getting shorter and many are often more gravitated towards results rather than patient process. It is hence easy for us to gloss over the many details present in our surroundings that can be experienced as long as we engage with our senses.
By engaging in multiple senses, this project hopes that people will also be able to process their everyday thoughts and life experiences through a different lens: one that allows a better understanding of self.

Understanding emotions is challenging for children, this confusion often manifests in children’s tantrum. This inability to control their emotion increases the likelihood of behavioural and psychological issues in the future.
Mindfulness-based-intervention has shown effectiveness in managing negative emotion. Let Feelings Flow is created with the intention of assisting children and parents to explore emotional regulation through mindfulness, to curb the development of issues stemming from poor emotional regulation.
Due to limited findings on the effect of mindfulness on preschoolers and lack of emotional regulation education, this project focuses on how design intervention can be used to deliver mindfulness to facilitate emotional regulation among preschoolers.
The final product is a 3-book series which can also be stand-alone books; hoping to share emotions regulation strategies and mindfulness practices with parents and preschoolers to be incorporated into their daily routine, promoting emotional intelligence and eventually emotional control to improve overall well-being.
Religion has always been one of the topics that could bring people together, or push people apart. In the case of sex education, Muslim youths who live in both the religious and secular societies, while still developing their identities, face a unique struggle. Through face to face interviews, online questionnaires, and secondary research, it is found that many young Muslims who live in diverse societies, surrounded by external influences, are fed unrealistic messages of love, lust, and relationships, as they struggle to meet the expectations of both worlds. In this report, it goes through the creative process of creating a graphic novel series that touches on sensitive topics that are age appropriate for the pre-teen target audience. “Sofia’s” is a series of short graphic novel stories created for pre-teens, aged 9 to 12, that revolve around stories of seemingly normal everyday happenings that test their beliefs in Islamic values, inspired by Muslims from around the world who also live in diverse societies.
