Parallel World of Communications (2014)

In a recent study in 2012, a forest ecologist. Prof. Suzanne Simard from University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Forestry, shows that trees can communicate by sharing carbon and nitrogen. A symbiotic relationship that works as a survival mechanism for the trees in forests are created by a complicated underground root system connected by fungi.

The intertwined root system forms an organic structure that is similar to axons and neurons in our brains, yet functioning like a systematic circuit board that transmits information. Essentially, this means that trees can move their energy from larger and older “mother trees” to the younger ones, leaving a legacy that transfers from one generation to the next. also known as Lamarckism.
