Research

The research activities in the Appetite and Intergroup Relations (AIR) Lab encompasses two themes:
1. Social and psychological influences on human appetite and eating behavior.
2. Psychological bases of problematic intergroup relations.

Major research projects that are currently being conducted in the AIR Lab are:

■ Influence of perceived socioeconomic inequality on appetite and eating behavior.
■ Compensatory indulgence in response to perceived ‘healthy’ behaviors.
■ Psychological responses to different patterns of culture mixing.
■ Processes involved in the transformation of ingroup love into outgroup hate.
