Animal cloning is a complicated process. In many cases, the defects manifest themselves later and will kell the clone. Furthermore, Cloning produces genetics replicas of existing dogs, it cannot make any genetic improvements to the existing breed of dogs.

Pros:
1) Could solve the famine crisis as more food will be available as GM food can produce higher crop level.
2) GM corn could be modified to enhance the nutrient level of the corn, hence solving problems like malnutrition which would be prevalent in a famine.

Cons:
1) Consumption of GM food increases the risk of food based allergies in people
2) Use of genetically engineered food will force pests to evolve, therefore the difficulty of controlling pest will be multiplied
