1.

1. Isotopes: They can have same number of protons but different number of neutrons.
2. Ions: They can have different charges on the atoms depending on the number of electrons on the atom.

2.

By stating the mass number, we can differentiate the isotopes of nitrogen.

1.

Expensive to construct equipment, takes up a lot of space, and is a slow process. Also emits greenhouse gases

2.

Water soluble vitamins carry polar group and hence able to dissolve in polar solvent. Similarly, fat soluble vitamins carry non-polar group and hence able to dissolve in non-polar solvent.

3.

A. By hanging laundry to dry, we do not use electronic dryer, which produce pollutants that cause acid rain.
B. By taking such alternative methods of transport, we are reducing overall emission of similar pollutants. Because there will be less cars on the road .
C. By putting in bigger loads, we are using less power on these machines, therefore reducing emission of the above pollutants.
D. Adding insulation will speed up the process of heating so that less pollutants will be emitted.
E. Avoiding imports means cutting down on transportation, meaning less pollutants emitted.

4.

a. Coal fired plants produce smoke, dust and soot into the atmosphere, reducing visibility. More droplets of SO3 will also be in the atmosphere due to such emissions, therefore reducing visibility .
B. pH of natural rainfall = 5.6
pH of acidic rainfall = 4.6
