If the DNA is taken from the dog of older age, the chromosome may be shorter than the newborn dog because of multiple cell divisions. And the breed will not be improved as the DNA would be exactly the same as the dog this DNA is taken from.
Breeding, on the other hand, would improve dog breed since it is through natural selection and there are wider diversity of genes.

2.

Pro:
-Able to feed the people
-The food may be cheaper
-More nutrient

Cons:
Will contaminate the wild type crop in the country.
-people may develop allergy

a) (C)n + (H2O)n

b)

c) For example, glucose is an isomer of fructose. These two carbohydrates have different sweetness level. It is possible that it is due to the difference in structural arrangement which affects the binding ability to the “taste” receptor.

2.

The concept of chemical-free diet is impossible as the fundamental understanding of chemistry is that all molecules are make up of chemical structures. Hence, no food can be chemical-free.

1.

Styrofoam contain lots of air space, when it dissolves in acetone, the air bubbles escape and the structure will change, resulting in denser structure

2.

a. Branching will cause the structure to be more rigid (brittle) thus it will be less flexible

b. The layers of molecules can slide between each linear HDPE, therefore making it more flexible

3.

– The weak but extensive dispersion force allows the molecules to slip pass one another thus allowing it to stretch

– As for paper, there is different interaction which does not allow sliding between molecules

4.

a. Non-toxic, biocompatible, non-biodegradable, lack of reactivity in body fluid

b. PMMA (Poly Methyl Methacrylate)
– Light weight
– Transparent
– Non-toxic
– Permeable to oxygen

c. Hard contact lens (PMMA) => rigid, non-gas permeable plastic
Soft (silicone) => flexible, allow oxygen to reach eyes
Due to those properties, soft lenses tend to be more comfortable.

1.

2 ways which one carbon can differ from another
– The way the carbon are arranged in space. E.g. Diamond is tetrahedral whereas graphit has infinite array layer
– Carbon isotopes, they have the same number of protons but different number of protons.

3 ways which carbon atoms differ from uranium atoms
– Atomic number of carbon is 6 whereas for uranium is 92
-Atomic weight of carbon is 12 whereas for uranium is 238
– Carbon isotopes are mostly stable whereas uranium isotopes are usually radioactive.

2.

– N-14 atomic weight is 14 whereas N-15 atomic weight is 15
– They are isotopes.
– N-15 has one more neutron than N-14

3.

A) 94
B) 93 protons: Neptunium(Np)
94 protons: Plutonium ( Pu)
C) Rn: 86 protons

4.

A) control rod assembly
B) cooling water out of the core
C) control rods
D) cooling water into the core
E) fuel rods
