Solubility is a chemical property referring to the ability for a given substance (solute) to dissolve in a solvent. Water is capable of dissolving a variety of different substances, which is why it is a good solvent. These are the few examples of water as a solvent; carbonated drinks, sweet drinks and gases in our blood.
