I decided to make a halter neck dress. As the top of my dress is abit loose when wearing it and it might expose the breast. So I went to cut out the halter neck template using paper and place it on the organza as I want to make a translucent halter neck for my dress.
After i got the halter neck done, I proceed to do the layering pattern to the front and back of the dress. It was quite tedious to make the layering. First i cut the organza into equal strips and sew 3 strips together, after getting a a lot of the 3 layers strips I then sew strip by strip on the top part of the dress. At the back of the dress I used a straight pattern but for the front i wanted to create elegant curvy lines, so I marked out the curve lines before i sew the strips on it.
And my dress turn out to be like this! I am happy with the outcome! I like how it looks like by giving the fluffy texture. And without sewing up the edges, the organza happen to derail a little and it turn out to be a surprise that it gives the dress a unique visual effect and texture.
After looking at my dress, I think it will look better without the halter neck… So i decided to take halter neck off and it does look better without it.
I want to specially thank my boyfriend Jared to always driving me around to get organza when I used finish all my organza. And also my beloved classmates that always being so helpful when I running out of fabrics.
