Day 3 (6th Jan)

We went to Doi Suthep for a visit and the temple was amazing, though the location is up on the hill itself and the trip itself is a bit torturous. But the view at the observation deck is nothing short of amazing. Did the people decide to build such an observation deck because of the view itself? Or was there some religious element on how the temple itself is designed and located at? After that, we went to Nimmanhaemin Road for lunch and it was a street filled with low level buildings, with many cafes along that stretch of road itself. The dishes itself have a local touch to it and it felt motherly when I tasted the dishes. We then went to Maya Mall. One interesting observation that I made was that the mall is relatively empty in Singapore standards over there, the human traffic was sparse, unlike Singapore. Before coming to Thailand, I had the impression that the shopping malls in Thailand generally will be bustling with youth like in Singapore, but it turns out that this was not the case in Chiang Mai. Or maybe it was just a weekday afternoon where many students were still in school. We had Mookata for dinner but the standards were not as good as compared to the ones I had in Singapore so I was kind of disappointed.
