Felipe Garcia gained his B.Sc. in chemistry in 2000; followed by a M.Sc. in 2001 chemistry at Oviedo University (Spain). He moved to the University of Cambridge to carry out his graduate studies as a Cambridge European Trust and Newton Trust Scholar (2001-2004) under the supervision of Prof. Dominic Wright, a leading expert in Main Group Chemistry working in ‘Main group Imides and Phosphides’. After his Ph.D., he undertook post-doctoral research investigating ‘Synthesis of Macrocylic Main Group Ligands’. Then, he was awarded aJunior Research Fellowship (JRF) at Wolfson College (Cambridge University), this independent position allowed him to expand his research interests to ‘Inverse coordination of metal salts’ and ‘Photoactive materials’. This was followed by a College Lectureship in Inorganic Chemistry (Newnham and Trinity Colleges) at Cambridge University. In March 2011, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor at Nanyang Technological University.
