Self Indulgence

Gather the people,

enter the feast,

all are invited,

the greatest and least.

The banquet is ready,

now to be shared,

join in the communal feast,

that the servants have prepared.

Crowds bustling in,

conversations filled the air,

the ambience changes.

An ambrosial scent was lingering,

everyone was feasting,

and all sang praises.

Sipping the wine,

many thoughts run through,

too many to count the least.

My heart due to slumber take,

I could not help thinking,

lost in forlorn thoughts,

indulging yet another sip.
