The History of the Book

This exhibition showcases artifacts that illustrate how people have made, used, and disposed of their books from the medieval period to the present.

The items featured in this exhibition have been researched and analysed by students taking the course HL3036: The History of the Book in NTU’s School of Humanities. They have chosen their items to showcase how book production changed over time and to explore broader questions about the nature of texts, their reception, and their associated communities and contexts.  Their work draws attention to the value of the physical book, even in the present digital age.
